Besides the limited edition we told you about yesterday, Peugeot also showcased at the Frankfurt Auto Show the company's new RCZ model. The car, which is somewhat similar in appearance with the popular Audi TT, will go on sale in spring 2010, with pricing for the UK market already announced.

Specifically, the car measures 1.36 meters in height and comes with aluminum roof arches, just like the concept model. Their role is to help highlight some unique design features, including the front windscreen, the black roof panel and the dark tinted rear windscreen, as Peugeot mentioned in a release.

There will be three engine configurations available, generating between 156 and 200 bhp. The car will be oferred with either 18- or 19-inch wheels, ESP, DSC, ventilated discs at the front and regular discs at the rear.

Here are the engine configurations, as presented by the French manufacturer back in August:

  • 1.6-liter THP petrol turbo releasing 156 bhp (116 kW) and 240 Nm of torque; it is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox and achieves 40.9 mpg (5.75 l/100km) while releasing 159 grams of CO2 per kilometer
  • 2.0-liter HDi FAP generating 163 bhp (122 kW) and 340 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm; it is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission and burns around 4.49 liters of gas every 100 kilometers (52.3 mpg); this unit produces 139 grams of CO2 per km
  • 1.6-liter THP rolling out 200 bhp (149 kW) and 255 Nm of torque, with an overboost system bringing an extra 20 Nm; it can push the car from 0 to sixty in 7.6 seconds
