Peugeot has just unveiled the RCZ coupe, a model that will be revealed to the general public at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The 2+2 sports car that reminds us of Audi's TT - which by the way is going to be its main competitor - is the first model manufactured by the French carmaker that doesn't follow the same brand numbering used on the other cars - such as 107, 3008 or 307.
As you can see for yourselves in the adjacent images, the RCZ looks quite appealing, with its aerodynamic body measuring 1.36 meters in height. The aluminum "roof arches" seen on the concept model are still there and "help highlight" the front windscreen, black roof panel and dark-tinted rear windscreen, as Peugeot said in a release.
There will be three engine configurations available, as it follows:
Other highlights including 18- or 19-inch wheels, McPherson front suspension and rear torsion beam, ESP, DSC and ventilated discs at the front and regular disc brakes at the rear.

- 2.0-liter HDi FAP generating 163 bhp (122 kW) and 340 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm; it is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission and burns around 4.49 liters of gas every 100 kilometers (52.3 mpg); this unit produces 139 grams of CO2 per km
- 1.6-liter THP rolling out 200 bhp (149 kW) and 255 Nm of torque, with an overboost system bringing an extra 20 Nm; it can push the car from 0 to sixty in 7.6 seconds
