Peugeot's 308 RCZ Concept to Debut as RCZ

After the impressive media success of Peugeot's latest concept car, the 308 RCZ, the French car manufacturer decided to send it to production and change its name. The 308 RCZ will now be called just 'RCZ' to underline the new car as a singular exclusive model.

"The exceptional levels of interest expressed at the show convinced Peugeot that they had to turn this concept car into a commercial reality" Peugeot said.

Peugeot is set to launch the new production model RCZ at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The French automaker said their biggest challenge was to keep the intriguing exterior aspect of the car as close as possible to the 308 RCZ concept, which means that the RCZ will, unfortunately, not look as hype as the concept car.

Peugeot presented the compact 2+2 coupe as an upscaled vehicle which sacrifices practicability in the detriment of elegance and fashion. “Full of emotion, aimed at enthusiasts who are particularly discerning with regard to driving enjoyment” said Peugeot tactfully and diplomatic.

"The first wish had always been to keep the purity of the original concept's styling, but also to ensure that the car would drive as well as it looks. In fact, some very ambitious targets were set in terms of driving dynamics and build quality, in order to give the car its own extremely strong identity" stated the French car manufacturer in a subtle drive to praise its unreleased model and induce to the consumers the idea the car won't deceive their expectations.
