A bit earlier today we showed you Peugeot’s RCZ R, but this isn’t the only hot model the company has brought to Frankfurt. This is joined by the Peugeot 308 R hot hatch concept, which also shares its engine.
The 308 stole quite a bit of attention from the 308 it is based on, which also made its appearance on the Frankfurt floor.
As for the aforementioned engine, we’re talking about a pretty loony 170 hp per liter unit. The turbocharged 1.6-liter engine was pushed to 270 hp and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft). This feeds the front wheels via a Torsen LSD and a six-speed manual transmission.
Peugeot hasn’t offered the exact performance numbers for the 308 R, but this should mirror the RCZ R’s 5.9s o to 62 mph sprint time and 155 mph (250 km/h) electronically limited top speed.
