After seeing just how much attention of the positive kind with the aptly named C30 PCP, Volvo could not have missed the opportunity to let Polestar, who create their touring cars, fiddle with the new S60. And fiddle they did, giving the car all performance numbers way beyond what a realistic ‘hot’ version of the S60 could muster.
So, according to pistonheads.com, the S60 Polestar 508-hp all-wheel drive monster has been sold off for $300,000 (€236,605). While the price may not be relevant for the kind of car this is, as that much money could buy you something even quicker, it’s the exclusivity and the idea of having a (genuinely) one-of-a-kind motor.

Factor in the extremely stylish body, excellent interior, all the racing technology and man hours that have gone into making this one vehicle, and the price is more justifiable. While we’ll never see this car mass produced and on the road, it’s good to know it exists and it’s out there, slapping ‘the system’ in the face at every chance it gets.
