Unfortunately for our bank accounts, the S650 seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang is the last American pony car alive – at least for the time being. So, maybe it's time to start thinking about the old Camaros and Challengers or Chargers left lying around.
Starting at less than $31k (sans destination), you would think the EcoBoost Fastback is an excellent deal with 315 horsepower on tap. It is, but things get tricky and expensive pretty fast once you start adding stuff or changing the powertrain and body style. For example, the EcoBoost Convertible is already $39k! Also, you can't get a GT Fastback with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 for less than $41,710, and the top Dark Horse Premium goes for no less than $63,480 without any options.

That's all GM and Stellantis' faults, of course, for allowing their Blue Oval rival to dominate the market. Chevrolet ended production of the sixth generation Camaro last December, and so did Dodge with the Charger and Challenger. The L-bodied models are gone forever as the all-new Charger is coming with the new STLA Large platform, a return to the two-door fastback coupe tradition, and the option to make it a zero emissions Charger Daytona EV. Of course, that means it's going to be expensive, too.

So, people might do well to start thinking about how to take advantage of their older Camaro, Charger, or Challenger. If you're rooting for Team Chevy and your favorite is the fourth-generation Camaro, you might also want to take a look at the imaginative realm of digital car content creators if you're looking for inspiration on how to make the 1993-2002MY Camaro feel a bit more contemporary. For example, Khyzyl Saleem, the virtual artist better known as the_kyza on social media, thinks that now may be the perfect time to start thinking about old Camaros and how to fulfill lifelong dreams.

Inspired by the eternal love for Gran Turismo, the pixel master recently remembered that the Chevrolet Camaro LM Race Car was always one of his favorites, so he set out to make a fourth-gen Chevy Camaro restomod his next design project. The result is pretty simple, indeed – just a satin black Camaro. However, as always, the CGI devil is in the details, such as the lowered suspension setup, the subtle aerodynamic body kit, which includes wider fender flares, the updated LED headlights, or the hinted crimson interior with a full racing roll cage.

Additionally, it seems the CGI expert is going through a Desmond Wheels EU phase, so it is no wonder that his dream fourth-gen Chevy Camaro restomod build also has contrasting white 19-inch Desmond Regamaster EVO II wheels. As a side note, those lightweight aftermarket wheels are also available in other colors like Gloss, Silver, Gunmetal, and Satin Gold from £3,750 ($4,754) plus shipping for a set of four.
