Four New Mercedes-Benz A-Class and CLA Versions Up For Ordering

The Mercedes-Benz MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform is off to a much better sales start than even the project's managers were expecting. The A-Class, B-Class, CLA and soon even the GLA have more than met the “if you build it, they will come” tag line according to recent sales reports.

Too keep up the sales momentum in Europe, the Stuttgart manufacturer just released four new versions of the A-Class and the CLA that can be ordered starting with October 7.

Three of them share the “Engineered by AMG” catchword, even though they're not exactly part of the performance sub-brand some recent reports were mentioning, but of the “Sport” package line, recently introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show for the CLA as well.

The A 250 Sport 4Matic is simply the all-wheel drive version of the the earlier-launched A 250 Sport, while the CLA 250 Sport and CLA 250 Sport 4Matic are - you guessed it – the two “Sport” variants of the CLA 250.

October 7 is also the day when the new entry level diesel in the CLA model range, the Renault-powered CLA 180 CDI, becomes available for ordering.

The pricing including 19% VAT for the new Mercedes-Benz versions in Germany starts at EUR 39,954.25 for the A 250 Sport 4Matic, EUR42,304.50 for the CLA 250 Sport and EUR44,506.00 for the CLA 250 Sport 4Matic. The Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 CDI starts at EUR31,178.
