After quite a long pause, the DTM Championship resumed this weekend on the city-circuit of Norisring, in temperatures soaring over 30 degrees Celsius.
At the end of the race, four out of the top 10 spots were occupied by BMW drivers, respectively Bruno Spengler, Joey Hand, Andy Priaulx and Marco Wittmann. Bruno finished sixth, whilst the other took the last 3 positions.

Following this race, the reigning DTM champion managed to secure points in all 5 races of the season so far and all the past 11 DTM races overall. Dirk Werner just missed the points, ending up on the 11th place.

Unfortunately for Martin Tomczyk, he had to retire after 16 laps, after overtaking 8 spots, reaching the 9th position (starting out from the 17th spot of the grid). His DNF was mostly due to his duel with Jamie Green.

After the Norisring race, Spengler is now on the second place in the Drivers' Championship, with 67 points, just 2 behind leader Mike Rockenfeller, whilst in the Manufacturers' Championship, BMW is still the leader with 192 point, followed by Mercedes with 177 and Audi with 136.
