Formula Renault BARC Championship Offers International Experience

The 2011 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship is allowing drivers to take advantage of a rare opportunity, offering them the change to race in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC meeting at Zandvoort.

The event is scheduled to be held over the weekend and will see BARC drivers participate in the prestigious Masters of Formula 3 meeting, which should attract a crowd of over 20,000.

This is an optional non-championship round, but it allows BARC drivers to gain important international race experience. This could actually be a preview of how their career will look in a few years’ time. Drivers will be able to enter both the 25-minute Formula Renault 2.0 NEC races that will be organized over the week-end, as well as the the preceded practice and qualifying sessions.

This is an exceptional opportunity for young drivers to compete at an event and circuit as prestigious as this. Giving drivers a taste of international racing will help them for what lays around the corner and we will certainly be talking to our drivers about participating,” said Richard Ollerenshaw, Team Manager of Championship winning team Hillspeed.

This is a great opportunity for us as a relatively junior Formula to have an opportunity to run both in front of a large, European audience and with a championship of the quality of the Masters of Formula 3. The potential for sponsors is excellent and it also gives the drivers a chance to impress on a European circuit,” SWB Motorsport’s Team Manager Simon Baldry said.
