2011 Race Retro Ready to Kick Off

The 2011 Race Retro, an event that will be celebrate historic motorsport in all its forms, is preparing to start, as will take over Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, between February 25 and 27.

The event will bring together motorsport cars and bikes, drivers and riders, offering entertainment for enthusiasts, whether these like 1920s sports cars or 1960s and ‘70s racing motorcycles. The list of racing heroes that will attend the event include riders Phil Read MBE and Giacomo Agostini, rally drivers Jimmy McRae and Miki Biasion, as well as F1 ace Johnny Herbert, Jack Sears and Richard Attwood.

The event will also include dedicated initiatives: Lancia will celebrate its rallying success, Jaguar will mark the 50th anniversary of the E-Type and Italian racing motorcycles will have their own display.

With the Ace Cafe-sponsored Fire-Up paddock, bike enthusiasts can get up close and enjoy the sight, sounds and smells of racing machinery. Meanwhile the Live Rally Stage is back to popular acclaim on the Saturday and Sunday, giving visitors the chance to see historic rally cars in all their mud-flinging, flame-spitting fury,” stated the press release.

The 2011 Race Retro will also include other activities, such as karting demos, a special Birmingham Superpix display, as well as an area where visitors will be able to purchase parts for competition cars and motorcycles and a classic car auction, which will be held by H & H.

The show is scheduled to open from 9:30am each day and close at 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday and at 4:30pm on Sunday.
