Former 2Wire Exec to Lead Coulomb

Coulomb Technologies, one of the most important players on the EV charging solutions market announced over the weekend the appointment of Pasquale Romano the positions of president and CEO.

Romano, who was formerly in charge of 2Wire, a telecommunications companies’ supplier, will take control of Coulomb from its co-founder and current CEO, Richard Lowenthal. In his turn, Lowenthal will become chief technical officer.

“Coulomb is fueling the electric vehicle industry with their advanced networking solutions,” said Romano. “Now that the long awaited electric vehicles are upon us, the demand to support those vehicles is tremendous.”

“I joined Coulomb because the company has the best technology coupled with an innovative business model in networked vehicle charging that has provided a two-year lead in the market. I look forward to working with the accomplished team at Coulomb to help further their record of innovation.”

The new CEO brings quite an extensive experience to the charging solution provider, having co-founded 2Wire and video networking company Fluent in 1989 (sold to Novell Corporation in 1993) having worked in engineering and marketing positions at Polycom. He is a holder of undergraduate degree in computer science from Harvard University, and received his master’s degree from the MIT Media Laboratory.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Pat’s skill and experience to lead Coulomb to new heights,” said Richard Lowenthal. “We look forward to working with Pat and our team to realize the full potential of the Company and continue with the mission to ‘Fuel the Electric Transportation Industry.’”
