The world's eight biggest manufacturers are releasing monthly sale figures for March throughout the day. Ford marks high with a sales increase of 3.4 percent compared to the same period last year. Retail sales of 166,030 vehicles are up 3 percent for the best March retail result of the last eight years.
John Felice, Ford's vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service, has stated “March sales turned noticeably higher mid-month and finished strong. Fusion set an all-time record in March, as overall retail sales in the West continued to expand at the fastest rate in the nation – including California being up 32 percent. F-Series also had a very strong month.”

Ford's sleek and stylish Fusion has sold 32,963 units, the best monthly record since its introduction in 2005. The F-Series managed a sales mark of 70,940 units - the highest March sales volume since 2008.

Last but not least, Lincoln's MKZ sales are up by a whopping 72 percent, setting an all-time monthly sales record. The 4,052 MKZ sold drove overall Lincoln sales to a 31 percent increase, March being the sixth straight month of sales gains.
