Ford World Excellence Awards

Similar to other automakers across the globe, including Volkswagen and Audi, Ford today announced the winners of the company's World Excellence Awards for 2008, the highest recognition for suppliers, as Ford itself names the event. Overall, thirty-six suppliers from eight countries received the awards which honors both production and non-production partners collaborating with Ford. There are three different awards, Gold, Silver and Recognition of Achievement, with the first two handed over to "production and non-production suppliers that consistently demonstrate superior quality, delivery and cost performance," as Ford explained in a release. On the other hand, the Recognition of Achievement is awarded to suppliers who improve customer satisfaction by several factors, as it follows: New Consumer-Focused Technology, Warranty Improvement, Diversity and Community Service, Corporate Responsibility, and Consumer Driven 6-Sigma. "The achievement of Ford's ONE Goal depends upon all members of the ONE Ford team working together," said Tony Brown, group vice president, Global Purchasing. "We salute the supplier winners of the 2008 World Excellence Awards for providing products and services that reach the highest standards for technology, quality and cost.
