We’ve recently brought the next Ford Focus RS into the spotlights, talking about the car’s 335 hp output and 2015 expected launch date. This talk makes one wonder what will happen to the rest of the Blue Oval’s RS range.
The answer comes from head of marketing for Ford Europe, Roelant de Waard, who told autocar that the RS badge is something special that won’t be turned into a line-up. To be more precise, the executive hinted that Ford won’t release more than one RS model at a given time.

Ford is planning to keep its RS division in a leash because the company also has other priorities when it comes to performance vehicles in Europe - the Mustang is the carmaker’s main focus at the moment.

The Mustang is set to launch a full European offensive when the next generation arrives, but Ford is expected to bring limited quantities of the car to the Old Continent as early as this year, in order to boost the pony car’s reputation.
