Ford Design Studio played a big role in how next year’s Fusion NASCAR racer looks. They’re responsible for making the car look much more similar to the actual road car by mimicking the grille and headlight design. Now, they’ve released photos of the paint scheme for the race car in the traditional Motorcraft configuration.
Some of you might have already noticed that there’s something wrong with the picture, since the windows are blacked out like on a concept. That’s because even though the car looks like an actual stock car that is ready for 600 miles in the Coca-Cola 600 this weekend, it’s actually a full-size clay model that was produced by the Design Center in Dearborn.
“Fans will be able to get their first look at the 2013 Motorcraft Ford Fusion of the Wood Brothers this week, beginning on Thursday at the annual Roush Fenway Fan Day in Concord, North Carolina,” Ford says.
After that, the model will be moved to the Ford consumer display at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
