Ford Racing Launches Z460 Shortblock

Ford Racing has announced the introduction of the brand new Z460 engine shortblock, which shares internals with the company’s Z460 crate engine, but can be fitted with custom cams, heads and intake manifolds.
The shortblock features a 9.5-inch deck Boss 4.150-inch bore block, scat forged crankshaft with 4.250-inch stroke, scat H-beam rods, Mahle forged assembly, and neutral balanced assembly. The block is hydraulic roller camshaft compatible and can be used for a variety of builds, for both street and racing use.

The new shortblock can be tuned to deliver at least 600 horsepower, 25 more than the Z460 crate engine Ford Racing revealed three months ago. It can be order as part number M-6009-460 for $6,395.

Crankshaft: SCAT® Forged Steel
Connecting Rods: SCAT® forged steel H-beam 6.125-inch length connecting rods
Pistons: Forged Mahle® w/ floating wrist pin 30cc dish, 1.245 comp. height
Balanced: Internal – use neutral balance flywheel; M-6316-D302
Hydraulic roller camshaft compatible
Recommended cylinder head fasteners: M-6065-BOSS head bolts, M-6014-BOSS head studs
