There's a new trend on the Internet of things and in involves 360 degrees films that put the user inside some of the fastest production cars available in real life.
Lexus is doing it with the RC-F on a virtual interpretation of the Ascari circuit in Spain, and now Ford attempts something similar with a pixel replica of the famous Silverstone track, where a 5.0-liter V8 engine-powered Mustang Fastback is put through its paces by professional driver Paul Swift.

This might not seem much considering today's GCI possibilities but think about this. For this particular 80-second clip, a full day was necessary plus an arsenal of six GoPro cameras inside the car, as well as drone and front bumper cameras.

After the raw footage had been collected, it was editing time. In a nutshell, the action starts once you click on the pony badge and press the Start Engine button.

You can adjust the camera using the arrow keys, trackpad, or mouse. Also, there's the possibility of swapping between vantage points by clicking on the helicopter icon or on the Mustang's fascia displays for a view from the grille.

“This video is a lot of fun, it makes you feel like you’re behind the wheel of a Mustang,” said Tom Barnes, Mustang vehicle engineering manager. Barnes has spent countless hours on the track developing the new Mustang. “You have complete control of your view as if you’re actually driving on the track.”

Well, it's up for you to test if he's right or wrong, by experiencing the video.
