Last year, American manufacturer Ford announced the introduction of the EcoBoost line of engines, which thanks to a series of new technologies are at least as powerful as gas-guzzling units, but less detrimental to your pocket while filling the car up.
The goal of the new line of engines is to allow Ford to improve fuel efficiency of its fleet by as much as 20 percent in the following years.
Back then, the carmaker expressed its desire to introduce the line of engine on at least 80 percent of the global model lineup. That desire is slowly turning reality, with the EcoBoost being slowly introduced to more segments of the carmakers lineup. The latest addition to the EcoBoost range, as you all know, is the F-150 truck.
To find out how the engines are being received by the customers, Ford conducted a survey, whose findings point to the fact that the switch from regular engines to EcoBoost has passed the point of no return.
For instance, 100 percent of Lincoln MKT buyers said they're happy with the EcoBoost, with an overwhelming 99 percent of those questioned (Ford gave no details on how many people were questioned) saying they are pleased with the engine's performance. Even more, EcoBoost is drawing more customers to the Blue Oval brand, most of them younger, more affluent buyers.
“Ford customers have embraced EcoBoost technology because of its ability to deliver power and performance with uncompromised fuel economy,” said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president of Global Product Development.
“We’re committed to expanding its reach to more customers so they can enjoy its unique blend of power, performance and fuel economy.”
