Five-Star London Taxi Service at China’s Millennium Hotels

Customers staying at the recently opened five star Millennium Hotel Chengdu in China will get to enjoy the iconic London Taxi transport services. The two TX4 taxis given to the Millennium Chengdu, one in the traditional black and one in the special Champagne, are placed in front of the hotel’s main entrance.

The Millennium Hotels can also be found in several locations in London, including Grosvenor Square, Sloane Street and Kensington Road.

Just like in London locations, the new complex in Chengdu can now offer its customers services such as private airport pick-ups and one day tours to Chengdu’s famous tourist destinations.

“The London Taxis which are in use at Chengdu enhance our hotel’s international popularity, whilst also acknowledging the prestigious Millennium hotel which we have in London,”
Shaun Hammond, general manager at the hotel said in a release.

“We are extremely excited to have received the gift of two London Taxis as they provide a very unique experience for all of our customers. The advanced features of the taxis make for a smooth and comfortable ride. The DVD players in the back of the taxi make it possible to show our guests what Chengdu has to offer when on their journey, whilst the integral wheelchair ramp makes the taxi easily accessible to all.”

Geely Automobile and Manganese Bronze Holdings, have began production of the TX4 models in Shanghai since mid-June 2009.

“Producing our taxis in China has given London Taxis a more global appeal and we are thrilled to see two of our TX4s in use at the Millennium Hotel Chengdu,” added Matthew Cheyne, International Market Development Director for The London Taxi Company.
