Well, the first day of official 2013 MotoGP tests in Sepang, Malaysia is over, and we have the rankings. Honda's Dani Pedrosa was the man of the day, his fastest lap timing being 2m01.157s.
Close behind him, and by "close"we mean 0.008s was Yamaha's Lorenzo, followed by a surprisingly fast Marc Marquez on a Honda. Valentino Rossi came in 4th with 2m02.584s. The Ducatis had the 10th and 13th times, with Hayden and Dovizioso, respectively.
Aspar Aprilia machines ridden by Aleix Espargaro and Randy de Puniet finished the day on positions 14 and 15, followed by the two Pramac Ducati bikes with Iannone and Spies.
The 24 riders have been joined by 4 more: Katsuyuki Nakasuga and Wataru Yoshikawa for Yamaha, and Honda's Kosuke Akiyoshi and Takumi Takahashi, all as test pilots. Now, that all the pre-test tensions have gone, we're looking forward to see the second day battle, which is indeed quite promising. Current results after the jump.
