Now that Fisker has sold the first unit of the Karma, with the car receiving the EPA certification, albeit not quite the desired one, it is time to look into the carmaker’s production future. Henrik Fisker, company CEO, claims that, even though the sales have been delayed, the Karma will meet its sales target of 7,000 units for this year, as Delaware Online reports.
Analysts have to look at it from a different perspective,” the executive said, contradicting reports that indicate the Karma isn’t quite what the world expected. “We’ve already defied the analysts a couple of times. We’ve made it. We’re delivering cars.

As for the second model of the carmaker, the Project Nina smaller hybrid sedan, its lauch date has been delayed from next year to mid-2013, despite the fact that Fisker has secured a dela with BMW which will see the Germans supply their new 2.0-liter forced induction TwinPower engine for the car.

The Karma is built in Finland by Valmet, and the Nina will be brought to life in Dellaware, USA, with the company announcing that the latter will be a volume product, with a production target of 100,000 units per year.

We’ll have to wait and see if this plan is just ambitious or if it can really be turned into reality.
