Forget about performance, luxury and economy that the automaker wants you to focus on, the Fisker Surf that was just unveiled in Frankfurt isn’t about any of that! It's about room in the boot.
We’ve know about the shooting brake body for a couple of days before the IAA debut, and yesterday it was brought to the media’s attention via a full release. The new body is not design driven, it’s demand driven, as many customers said that all the mechanicals under the boot left them with little to no space in a Karma that’s supposed to take you place... far away places.
They’re calling the Surf a concept in Frankfurt, but it should be ready for deliveries soon, and it wouldn’t surprise us if they are taking orders on the show floor right now, give how cool it looks. The extra sheet metal has added only 77 pounds to the total weight and it has also allowed designers to fit a much bigger solar roof panel. The car will enter production in 2013 and will probably cost just over $100,000.
