The ActiveHybrid 7 was the first such vehicle from BMW to go from regular executive to executive with extra electric boost, and now, the changes brought about by the upcoming facelift for the 7-Series saloon.
We can also expect to see some slight increases from the ActiveHybrid 7’s combined output of 455 hp and maximum torque of 516 lb-ft, but the same V8 and electric motor will be used. As you’ll now by now, the hybrid 7er should deliver you about 15 percent better fuel economy than the 750i it’s based on.

When the facelifted 7-Series makes its debut some time next year, it will have to be ready to take on stiff competition from the all-new Mercedes Benz S-Klasse, though BMW, it seems, has decided to leave the car relatively unchanged. This is probably why we couldn’t find a single detail that was changed inside the car, not even a button.

However, small changes to the exterior will include new LED accents wherever possible. Thus, the indicators will take on the form of an LED bar, and the Bavarians will offer a new LED headlight as an optional extra.

As for the rest of the 7-Series engine range, the 740i will surely make use of the twin-turbocharged engine from, but power may be bumped to around 350 hp, while the 750i should have about 450 horsepower from a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine that makes use of BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology with two turbochargers and high-precision direct injection.

The 7-Series facelift will debut at next year’s Beijing Auto Show in April, while also staring in New York. The new ActiveHybrid 7 should debut at the same time, since it was originally aimed at the Asian market.
