BMW has announced that the Paris Motor Show will serve as a launch platform for their first ever all-wheel drive version of the 1-Series. The compact model will of course be getting the xDrive system, which distributes drive torque variably between the front and rear axle.
Only two engine choices have been offered with xDrive, the 120d xDrive, which offers a 2-liter turbodiesel with 184 hp, and the M135i xDrive, which uses a 320 hp 3.0-liter engine and will be able to sprint from zero to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds.

A new diesel entry-level model BMW 114d will also be presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. It is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology that puts out only 95 hp.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
