Swedish automaker Volvo has decided to enter the S60 Polestar performance sedan in a limited production run. Good news you might say, but hold your breath because the vehicle will be exclusive for the Australian market. At least for now...
Based on the concept car shown last year, the production S60 Polestar won’t be as fast and as powerful, Volvo cutting the maximum output from 508 HP to 345 HP. However, the vehicle will keep the same turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six engine, the new intercooler, revised ECU remap and stainless steel racing exhaust system, all of which were found on the concept car.
"We received a fantastic response to our Volvo C30 and S60 Polestar concept cars, so we are very happy to now introduce our first production car to the Australian market," said Christian Dahl, Managing Director of Polestar. "This is an important step forward for Polestar, one that promises an exciting future."
The first S60 Polestars will reach Australian customers in June with the limited production run to help the automaker determine if the performance sedan will be introduced on other markets as well.
