First Lamborghini Huracan Arrives in Britain, Sports Rosso Mars Paint

The first of what's likely to be many Huracan supercars made its UK debut this weekend during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo race series at Silverstone. This one-make racing series features a grid made up entirely of Gallardos, so it's only fitting that the replacement for that car make its presence felt there.

Even though it's only been a few month since the model's reveal, Lamborghini has already reported well over 1500 orders, so the waiting lists are huge. Let's go through just a few of the details that make this such a must-have with millionaires across the world.

First of all, there's the chassis, which blends carbon fiber and aluminum to produce a dry weight of 1,422 kg (3,135 lbs). Despite the trend for downsizing, Lamborghini has stuck with an all-motor 5.2-liter V10 screamer, delivering its peak output of 610 HP at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm.

Gone are both the manual gearbox and the single-clutch e-gear, replaced by a new twin-clutch a la' Audi R8 facelift, which the Italians call Lamborghini Doppia Frizione" (LDF). Finally, there's the look of the thing, which is nothing short of spectacular. Only Lamborghini has been able to stamp such intricate sharp edges into aluminum, which makes the Huracan both geeky and old-school.
