We loved the look of the Dacia Lodgy ice racer, but we knew the tubular chassis and racing V6 had nothing to do with the people who would end up actually buying the car. They probably have dogs, cats, at least two children and the closest thing to ice racing they do is digging their cars out of the snow in winter.
So, here’s the first image showing the production version of the Dacia MPV that will make its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next March, which landed in the hands of CAR Magazine. You can’t exactly call it pretty, since the wheels look like they came off a go-kart and the door handles actually did come of a Dacia Sandero. However, the new grille and lights are a welcomed upgrade to the Dacia design language that hasn’t been revised in a long time.
The “Lodgy” name of the car comes from the English world “lodging” and is as such a way to indicate just how roomy the car is. At a bit under 4 meters in length, it probably offers room inside for five people and substantial boot space.
Editor's note: We never thought that the image could be a rendering, since it was to complexe, but one of our readers pointed out it's actually a Sandero Photoshop job.
