Nissan GT-R Powered Dacia Duster Hits the Dirt

Still waiting to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the one-off extreme Dacia Duster presented last week as the No Limit is testing its limits on circuits that are meant to resemble the surface of the famous US road.

A few days after the full details about the vehicle have been released, the people behind the car have released two very, very short videos showing the car perform what the production version of the model would probably never be able to perform.

At the heart of the model lies a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6, based on the VR 38 DETT block that usually goes into the Nissan GT-R. On the Duster, the engine develops 850 horsepower and is controlled with the help of a sequential six-speed Sadev transmission.

The Duster No Limit will be competing in the Unlimited class of the Pikes Peak Climb, the one that has practically no rules when it comes to what you can do to the engine. Behind the wheel of the car will sit Jean-Philippe Dayraut.

The Pikes Peak Hill Climb will kick off on June 26, continuing a tradition which began in 1916. The 89th edition of the race will witness dozens of cars and drivers racing to the top on a 12.42 miles that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the mountain’s 14,110 feet top.

As for the show that awaits us at that point, Duster's driver, Jean-Philippe Dayraut, says it all: "I can't think of any other form of motorsport where such cars are authorised."
