Ask someone to tell you the name of a supercar and you've got about 60 percent chances to hear Italian automakers like Ferrari or a Lamborghini, simply because they were among the first to create high-speed good-looking road beasts. The current caught on and soon enough we’ll also get Italian all-electric supercars, all starting with this - the Lavinia.
Now, you know how guys like to name their cars after women? Well, in this case the job has been already done because the company that wants to create this silent beast has named it Lavinia.

Yep, Italian company Tecnicar decided to take it up another notch and move a bit from making electric tourist trains, boats and disabled persons’ mobility devices to something cooler - a fully electric supercar; the above-mentioned Lavinia.

Hope it’s not the name of one of your ex's

The project started last year, with the company deciding to continue the regional supercar legacy by being the first Italian maker to put an EV supercar on the market.

Although the so-called Tecnicar Lavinia SE kinda’ looks like a kit car from these renderings, we’ll have to say it looks pretty damn good for the first of its kind. The lines have been drawn by Giuseppe Ferrazzano and word is that when the model will come to life, it will be powered by an 800 hp powertrain.

Which means it will dart from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). Carefully stepping on the go pedal (yeah, we can’t call it the “gas” or “loud” pedal) will take you some 300 km (186 miles) away from where you started on a full battery.

A real life prototype without the functional internals is currently being built and we could be able to see it as soon as December this year, at the 2014 Bologna Auto Show.
