As Citroen wants to split its lineup into the somewhat-normal passenger cars and the luxury DS branch, the Divine DS concept was made to offer a glimpse at the design cues and style that will influence the latter category in the future.

Disregarding the older Citroen GT concept, the Divine DS can be named the most interesting styled passenger car the automaker made so far. It’s roughly the same size of the current C4 model, much wider and a lot more crazier. It’s almost like a modern design study on wheels.

Some might say that the Divine DS borrows a lot from the Alfa-Romeo Brera, especially at the back, but that comparison is totally pointless. The Divine DS starts somehow normal at the front but then it rapidly combines sharp edges with organic flowing shapes and interlocking faceted surfaces covering the top and the rear window in one of the most bizarre LSD-influenced sculpture from the auto industry.

If the exterior hasn’t made you say “oh la la” yet, check out the interior, where an asymmetrical dashboard flows and partially covers a faceted central console that runs through to the rear seats, diamond fitted padded surfaces, floral motifs, metal back-boned front seats, a rectangular steering wheel and a large fighter-plane-like head up display. It simply reminds us of one of Prince's jackets, but cut for 2014.

Looks are not the only thing here that will raise your heartbeat, as the concept is powered by one of the most impressive engines in the PSA’s arsenal - the 1.6-liter turbocharged unit making 270 PS and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque.
