The exterior is meant to symbolize functionality and safety, the front end design shielding the Three-Diamond mark with bold chromed accent moldings on each side while wraparound headlights contribute to a sense of dynamism. The theme is continued at the rear too, where similar symbolic chrome accents and elongated lamp clusters run from tailgate to the wings.

As vault-safe as the Outlander PHEV Concept-S looks from the exterior, stepping inside will reveal a rather warm Black & Burgundy interior design theme, with plenty of soft leather, padding, wood and silver trimmings, horizontally-ribbed cushioned seats as well as a traditional Japanese black lacquered box inspired central console.

Grunt is provided by the Twin Motor 4WD powertrain which is basically a 2.0 plug-in hybrid system, using two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors fed by a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and the 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine.

The whole car measures 4,760 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height while having a 2,670 mm wheelbase, meaning space for 5 adults is assured.
