In March, a car called the Electric RaceAbout (E-RA), broke the world speed record for EVs on ice, hitting a top speed of 258 km/h (161.59 mph), and 250.64 km/h (156.65 mph) over the course of two runs. The prototype was built by the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Science, and proved highly successful.
Now, Scarlet Motrs, a very new EV maker based in Finland, has reached a deal with Metropolia, in order to collaborate on the development of an advanced powertrain for the E-RA prototype. However, while the research and development of the powertrain will be the collaboration’s main concern, they will also collaborate on making other bits and pieces for the upcoming car.

We are really looking forward to seeing how this car progresses, because of the ice record run, as well as the time of 7:47.79 seconds it recorded around the ‘Ring are anything to go by, this will be a fun machine indeed, if and when it becomes available for purchase.
