In an attempt to make the Doblo Cargo model even more appealing than it already is for British customers, Italian auto maker Fiat announced today an incentive to go with the test drives being offered for the model.
The incentive goes a bit like this: you go to a Fiat dealership, ask for a ride in a Doblo Cargo, spin it around for a few miles and at the end you get GBP50 worth of fuel back. The catch is that, in the end, you will have to buy a Doblo Cargo to use the fuel.
Fiat bets that the campaign will be a success because of the prices of the fuel in the UK. Pairing the incentive with the fact that the vehicle has a 58.9 mpg consumption figure on the combined cycle, the auto maker hopes that most of the test drives will turn into sales later in the month.
“Doblo Cargo is a great success story, but we’re always hungry for more customers to get behind the wheel and try it for themselves,” said Gerry Clarke, Fiat Professional director. “It’s now a serious consideration for businessmen and women whose role it is to bring home the bacon.”
“With the price of petrol and diesel on everyone’s minds today, this incentive offers great opportunities to claw some fuel back – not just now, but also in the longer term for customers opting to buy a Doblo Cargo.”
Should you decide to buy one, the task will not be easy. The model is being offered in seven body variants (Cargo, Cargo Maxi, Cargo SX, Cargo Maxi SX, Combi, Combi Maxi and Platform Cab) and is powered by four engines (1.4l 16v 95 bhp petrol, 1.3 90 bhp, 1.6 105 bhp, and 2.0 135 bhp diesel). Prices for the Doblo Cargo start at GBP11,395.
