Fiat Celebrates One Millionth Doblo Produced

Italian manufacturer Fiat has recently celebrated the one millionth Doblo that rolled off the production lines at the Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey, just ten years after the model entered production. It was the first model planned for export to be built at the Bursa plant, and approximately 70 percent of the units produced were sold outside of Turkey.

“Waiting for the “Turkish Coffee” coloured Doblò (built for the local market) to roll off the line were Tofas CEO Ali Pandir, Minister of Industry and Commerce Nihat Ergün and several representatives of Koç Holding, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mustafa V. Koç. Plant staff and workers, suppliers and dealers also attended the event,” a company statement reads.

Currently, the Fiat Doblo and Doblo Cargo are available in many trim levels and engine versions, and are sold in 80 countries.

The latest innovation in the range is the Doblo Natural Power that comes fitted with a specific Euro 5 120 HP 1.4 16v T-jet engine (petrol and natural gas) made by Fiat Powertrain Technologies. It is designed for maximum integration of the two petrol and CNG systems without reducing the volume of the boot, which is still 790 litres and 3200 litres with the seats down.

“The new Doblò Natural Power offers an excellent compromise between performance and fuel consumption: it is agile in traffic but at the same time brilliant on long hauls, considerably cutting running costs in all cases. The Doblò Natural Power is therefore the ideal answer for mixed use, and reasserts Fiat’s undisputed world leadership in the field of cars with original equipment (OEM) dual-fuel petrol/CNG engines,”
the statement concludes.
