Sometimes we wonder if marketing teams have too much time on their hands. Seriously now, to name a 100% European-branded car “America” is like making Jeeps in China... wait... never mind, now we get how this came about. However strange it might be, we have to tell you about this brand new edition from Fiat.
It’s called the Fiat 500 America and will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show to that the cinquecento has global reach now. They’ve sold some 800,000 of the in 110 countries around the world since its launch in 2007, and now they are going to celebrate with a thousand cars.

500 three-door 500s America will be built, together with 500 cabriors. But it’s not going to be sold in America because there it would be received as a strange patriotic message from the owner. They might even be shot if they go into the deep South.

As a Saloon (hatch), the 500 America will be available in the exclusive metallic shade America Blue and it is distinguished by mirror covers with "Stars & Stripes" graphics, stickers, dedicated beltline and 16" alloy rims with red cap edge. The door pillar also holds a badge with the number of your car from the total 500 lot to be built.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
