Ferrari Parade Stun the Emirates, Video Included

A stunning parade of around 100 Ferrari cars and owners celebrated the arrival of F1 to the United Arab Emirates, the past weekend, starting from Dubai and heading to Abu Dhabi via the Corniche road route. Leading the parade, comprised of both new and classic models, was the brand-new Ferrari California, a model which is a hit in the Middle East.

The trail of cars made a ‘pit-stop’ at the Poltrona Frau Group Design Center, a company that supplies Ferrari with luxurious leather fittings for its cars' interiors. Here all the participants had the opportunity to meet the Brasilian driver Felipe Massa. Also attending the event was Italian Ambassador Claudio Doniosi.

The final stop of the Ferrari parade was at the Yas Marina Circuit, where the participants watched free practice sessions for the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The parade was organised by Ferrari Middle East in association with Al Tayer, the official Ferrari importer for the UAE, and the Emirates’ Ferrari Owners' Club.

Following the parade, all of the participants were invited at a gala evening, which was held at the Yas Hotel, alongside 500 selected guests, including the Prancing Horse’s local partners and its clients from the Region.

Also attending the event were the Chairman of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo, the 7 times F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, the Scuderia Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Gianfranco Fisichella and Piero Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari's only living son.

Also located on Yas Island is the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest indoor theme park, housed under a roof designed after a classic double-curve body shell of the Italian supercar, and set to open sometime next year.

The Ferrari theme park will have over 20 rides and attractions, including the world’s fastest rollercoaster and features the largest Scuderia Ferrari "prancing horse" emblem in the world, measuring 66m in diameter.
