Ferrari F12 vs. Lamborghini Diablo SV Rev Battle Is Pure V12 Carpaccio

Upon a serious digging session on the world wide web, we’ve come to the conclusion that a rev battle between a Ferrari F12berlinetta and a Lamborghini Diablo SV should do the trick.

The two crossed paths/exhaust manifolds at the Ace Cafe in London, putting on quite a show.

While we’re not sure both vehicles came with stock exhaust systems, we can confirm the conclusions that result from this battle fall in line with what can be said about the standard incarnation of these vee-twelve gods.

For one thing, the aural mashup is perfect, since the entirely different tonalities of the two making them complementary. While the Maranello creation treats us with the high-pitch soundtrack that makes the Prancing Horse unique, the Lambo sounds like it wants its decibel demonstration to travel all the way over to Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The Lambo is of particular interest here, especially thanks to the deep retro connection offered by its V12. The Raging Bull is fitted with its original V12, used in the Miura, as the starting point for all engine developments that followed, Diablo included. It wasn’t until the Aventador arrived five decades later that Lamborghini came up with a V12 designed from the ground up.

Then there’s the typical soundtrack of the Lamborghini starter motor, which always seems to be in a rush compared to everything else in the supercar world.

With the final part of the video showing the high-octane rides leaving the supercar meet, we can’t stop but think about the antithesis between the driving effort required on each driver’s side. While the Diablo basically runs on the sweat and tears of its driver, the F12 is almost as easy to drive as a Fiat.
