Ferrari as a company is obsessed with speed and performance above all else, a perfect fit for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This year, their latest supercar is getting thrashed in front of thousands of British spectators, and it will be joined by a few other Maranello Marvels.
Also coming to Goodwood is a bespoke FF, a “Tailor-Made” 458 Spider and Eric Clapton’s SP12 EC, produced by Ferrari’s “Special Projects” division.
But without a doubt the star of the event will be the most powerful mass production Ferrari currently in production. The F12 Berlinetta is powered by a new 6,266cc direct-injected V12 which produces a maximum output of 740 hp. 0 to 60 mph takes 3 seconds and the car gets there screaming and piping as the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission does its job.
Ferrari will also be represented by the Scuderia Ferrari team who will be demonstrating their 2010 Formula 1 car throughout the weekend, driven by Scuderia Ferrari driver, Marc Gene.
There will sos be a number of classic Ferrari racing cars at the event, including 250 GTos, 312s and more modern F40 and F430 machines.
