FC Bayern to Get 100M Euro Sponsorship from Audi

According to Uli Hoeness, Bayern Munchen’s club manager, the German football club is extremely close to signing a sponsorship deal worth more than 100 million euros with Audi. However, the German carmaker did confirm the rumors yet. Hoeness said an official announcement is expected to be made by November 27, when the club’s annual meeting is held, Reuters reported.

"This is a participation (in the club) and a long-term contract," Hoeness was quoted as saying to Sky Television late on Sunday. "It is a package. An advertising contract and a participation. The amount is well over 100 million."

Earlier this year, FC Bayern Munchen players and officials received their new company vehicles from Audi, right before the Audi Cup kicked off.

Players, coaches and officials received their cars with great enthusiasm, including the new recently signed players, Mario Gomez, Alexander Baumjohann and Danijel Pranjic, all selecting black Audi Q7s with TDI engine each. National player Philipp Lahm, super star Franck Ribery and manager Uli Hoeness are now driving a 580-hp Audi RS 6, while Holger Badstuber chose an Audi S3 Sportback.

The German football Cup won the two-day soccer tournament with a score of 7 - 6, playing against Manchester United in the final. It was a penalty shootout of course, and goal-keeper Michael Rensing was the one that brought the victory for the German team.

FC Bayern Munich was later congratulated at the Oschersleben event by Oliver Jarvis, who was the first driver in the new DTM history to finish in pole position in a year-old car.
