FC Bayern Celebrated with Audi Car Parade

The German football champion, FC Bayern Munchen, was greeted by their fans in a parade of vehicles provided by Audi in downtown Munich yesterday, the German carmaker announced. The parade started at the practice grounds on Sabener Strasse and was led by the new A1, which Audi had painted in the colors of the German football club.

The vehicle spearheaded the way to “Marienplatz” for the brand new champions party.

“While the players enjoyed the cheers from the crowd on the back seats of Audi A5 Cabriolets, Audi had a special surprise in store for Louis van Gaal: he had the opportunity to ride to his premiere on the city hall's balcony in an Audi R8 Spyder,”
a company statement reads.

In late July 2009, FC Bayern Munchen players and officials received their new company vehicles from Audi. Mario Gomez, Alexander Baumjohann and Danijel Pranjic each selected a black Audi Q7 with TDI engine. National player Philipp Lahm,
super star Franck Ribery and manager Uli Hoeneß are driving a 580-hp Audi RS 6, while Holger Badstuber chose an Audi S3 Sportback.

Also, in late November 2009, Audi, who has been sponsoring the team ever since 2002, announced that it has bought a stake in FC Bayern Munchen. The German automaker was able to acquire 9.09 percent of FC Bayern Munchen for 90 million Euros.

However, the football club remains the only owner of the famous Allianz Arena München Stadion. With this transaction Audi will remain the only car company to sponsor the team.
