I'm about to move into a new home and need help. I must find the right way to transport some 400 diecast cars in various sizes. And then, I have to find a solution to have them on display at the new house.
With that in mind, I will avoid buying any new ones. That's easier said than done, though. Mattel's got a new product coming out every other day or even more often than that. Other companies on the market are just as exciting, so don't even get me started on the Ignition Model, Tarmac Works, or Spark collectibles. I can tell you that we're about to see two massive releases on the Hot Wheels Collectors website.

Both will be expensive and in high demand. Saving some money for the occasion is a good idea. Until that happens, there's a new challenge to look forward to. On January 11, 2024, at 9 AM PT, Matchbox is launching the Creations Exclusive 2021 Ford Bronco. It's by no means the first Bronco from Matchbox, and I can think of at least six different castings right off the bat. The one this Creations Exclusive collectible resembles the most is the Moving Parts Bronco, which debuted in 2022.

We have already seen three iterations of that, featuring opening doors. Given the immense popularity of the nameplate, you'll find several Hot Wheels alternatives as well. But if you want a direct comparison, consider the RLC-exclusive Bronco Wildtrack from 2022. Phil Riehlman designed that one, and it had a removable roof and doors, which was pretty neat. The Spectraflame Aqua paint job made it even better, but the price was also higher at $35.

Mattel has chosen a more conservative approach to the Matchbox Bronco, but the target audience differs slightly. You get a competition-livery with black, orange and grey accents. Next to the opening doors, this vehicle's main selling point is that it uses Matchbox True Grip offroad tires. That doesn't apply to the spare tire, which is quite a shame. If you decide to purchase, you'll receive the Bronco inside an oversized acrylic case with a desert background for an entry-level diorama.

For now, there is no restriction regarding how many items you can buy, as is the case with the Red Line Club items. This lack of scarcity doesn't provide any additional incentive but also likely hinders scalpers from joining the action. The Jeep Gladiator I showcased a month ago has yet to sell out, which could mean one of two things. One, people aren't interested in these models. Or two, Mattel has got a healthy supply of them ready to leave the factory. I'm sure Bronco enthusiasts will be interested in the new Matchbox model, which should be good enough for the company.
