Evoque Victoria Beckham Edition to Arrive Late to the Party

We first though that the new Land Rover Evoque was aimed deliberately at younger people who dared to take it where no city-boy crossover would ever dare to go, places like the outback or the middle of nowhere. Oh how wrong we were: It’s actually aimed at posh young people who want to arrive fashionably late to a party. You know, the kind that like big diamonds, watches with dials bigger than the wrist and Jimmy Choos.

How do we know this? Well, it seems that the queen of Posh with a capital “P” herself, Victoria Beckham” had a part to play in the development of the car. While we have to give credit where credit is due, and admit that she did a good job, we just hope too much of her personality has rubbed off on the car.

Autocar says there’s even a “Victoria Beckham Special Edition”. The car is actually ready, but Posh Spice’s birth will delay the launch a bit. The arrival will only take place once the former pop star is ready, after she has given birth to her and Los Angeles Galaxy football player’s David Beckham daughter.

No details regarding what’s in store for us have been released, but this should be a “stickers and sunroof” edition, with extra leather combination and bespoke paint, plus a price tag to match.

We’ll remind you a that little more than a week ago, the Evoque entered production in Liverpool, Great Britain. From there, it will be exported to over 170 countries around the world, including China and the US. People in their 30s and 40s will make up most of the sales, and the carmaker is hoping for success in the family car segment as well, with practical features that will make life easier for parents... and soccer star wives.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
