The Mercedes-Benz SL W113 went down in history as the iconic Pagoda. It was light, it screamed elegance, and made no compromise in terms of comfort despite its sporty nature. Now Everrati transplants an electric heart under that beautifully sculpted bonnet.
Just 24 hours after introducing the all-electric Land Rover Defender, Everrati came up with the zero-emission Mercedes-Benz SL W113 'Pagoda,' so nicknamed because of the shape of its roof. A roof that now comes down on the French Riviera, where it is on display this week. The electric 'Pagoda' is the latest addition to the company’s extensive portfolio of restored and re-powered models.
This is a car that, back in the 1960s, was the celebrities' darling. John Lennon, Audrey Hepburn, and Tina Turner had the ultimate open top, two-seater. Today, former F1 driver David Coulthard and pop star Harry Styles brag about their own. It was, after all, one of the finest automobiles of its era, a tag that extends to our times.
Restored, re-powered, and reinvented, the Mercedes-Benz SL W113 Pagoda keeps its impeccable design intact under a body painted in a deep shade of blue. Who would dare to mess with Paul Bracq’s creation from the 1960s? Definitely not Everrati, because it is not in their DNA, since they claim that their purpose is "to preserve such masterpieces of automotive engineering and design."
But what is in their DNA is… mechanical heart transplant. That is how the SL turned from an ICE-powered iconic automobile with an inline-six, with outputs ranging between 148 and 168 horsepower (150 - 170 PS) into a zero-emission vehicle with a chance to a more sustainable life. "It is fully futureproofed," says Everrati's co-founder and CEO Justin Lunny.

At the company's bespoke facility in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, the Everrati experts pulled out the original engine of the 'Pagoda' and replaced it with an electric motor. They kept the specs under wraps until the very last minute before the official unveiling in Monaco.
So, the classic comes with a 68-kWh battery pack, which provides it with a range of approximately 200 miles (322 kilometers). An electric motor generates 300 horsepower (304 PS) for a run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 7 seconds. Top speed is now of 124 mph (200 kph).
There are seats wrapped in leather on board, and the tachometer was converted into a power meter.
The model made its public debut at the Fairmont Monte Carlo during the Monaco Yacht Show, which has just started on the French Riviera. That is where Everrati has also taken the former Land Rover Defender, now Shore Tender electric off-roader.
Furthermore, all throughout the event, Everrati will be chauffeuring VIP guests around the principality of Monaco in one of their latest creations: the Land Rover Series IIA.
