The Auto Mobil International show held in Leipzig every year since 1992 grew both in size and importance with every passing 12 months. This year, BMW will have an impressive line-up at the venue, including the European Premiere of the M4 Convertible.
The 2 Series Active Tourer, the brand’s first front-wheel-drive model, will be on the stage, introducing the first MPV from Bavaria. Using the brand new UKL platform and modular engines part of the B-family, the new 2er is aiming to bring down some of the unchallenged popularity the B-Class from Mercedes-Benz is currently experiencing.

Next to the Active Tourer we’ll also get to see the brand new Sport Activity Coupe from Munich, the X4. Looking to offer yet another Coupe-like alternative SUV for the masses, X6’s brother will be on display between 31 May and June 8, also celebrating its European Premiere.

If those two don’t tickle your fancy (and they probably don’t), the M4 Convertible might be the solution. The drop top version of the new M car will show its beautiful curves in Leipzig also.

Fitted with a 3-liter biturbo 6-cylinder engine making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, the new M4 model is capable of 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in just 4.4 seconds when fitted with the 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Last, but not least, the two i cars BMW is currently building in Leipzig will join the line-up. Both the all-electric i3 and the hybrid plug-in sportscar, the i8 will ‘electrify’ the crowd with both their looks and their specs. The show kicks off on Saturday, May 31st. Find out more about the manufacturers that confirmed their presence at the event on its dedicated website.
