Usually, plastic city-oriented EVs don`t really stir up much interest in the minds of car-loving folks, and images of the GeeWiz spring to mind. However, ECOmove’s Qbeak EV is very different, and the only thing it does have in common with the GeeWiz is the fact that both have plastic body panels, and that`s about it.
The Qbeak is and advanced machine, which uses aluminium and kevlar in the construction of the chassis, in order to keep weight down, performance good and range high. Proof of this is the fact that the car weighs around 425 kg, and with a power output of 95 hp, performance should be impressive.

Now, ECOmove have announced the construction of a new, third, prototype which takes the concept further. They say the latest version is even lighter and more advanced, and they are pitching the car to interested parties, in order to get the necessary funding for production, which they say will begin in 2014.

They also pointed out that the latest prototype is very close to the actual production model, and with its excellent design, advanced technology and one-charge autonomy of up to 300 km (186 miles), if it impresses the right people, the road to the production line will be a very short one, we say.
