It’s not often that we come across a small EV made out of plastic that excites us so much. The Danish-designed and built ECOmove QBEAK is, first and foremost, a stunning piece of design, radically different to what people have gotten used to, especially when it comes to city-focused EVs.
You will get noticed when you drive one of these - but in a good way. Also, for something which is 3 m long, 1.75 m wide and 1.63 m tall, it is very well proportioned and has a very low and purposeful stance. Its body panels can be easily changed and we expect the manufacturer to provide multiple variations of the design for those who are interested - this is the advantage of having cheap body panels made out of plastic: they are cheap and easily replaceable.

On the technical side, the QBEAK gets 6 “energy modules”, each capable of carrying a total of 4.7 kWh (28.2 kWh in total). The juice is drawn into two electric motors which produce a combined output of 95 hp. Furthermore, with an overall weight as low as 425 kg, its batteries ensure a range of up to 300 km (168 miles). All these numbers are really impressive, and factoring in its top speed of 120 km/h, we say it could even be used for short trips on the motorway - no other small city-orriented EV can currently do that.

However, the good news doesn’t end here. According to the manufacturer, the interior is also customizable and it can house up to 6 individual seats! With production expected to start this year, we will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one. We hope it’s not horrendously expensive, and if it isn’t, it will prove successful in Europe’s congested cities.
