Alright, so it looks like the East is going to win this battle, but it's not like it played entirely fair. The Model S is a fairly heavy car when compared to regular models - and even most SUVs - but it can't really go head to head with an old Kamaz crane truck.
Or maybe it can. In a totally involuntary reenactment of this scenario, one such electric sedan and Soviet truck banged their heads yesterday morning in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn. It looks like the EV was trundling along at eight o'clock in the morning traffic speed when the heavy lifter came asking for a cup of sugra.

Only it didn't stop to knock on the door, barging right in instead. Luckily, the Tesla's front trunk took the most damage, with the passenger cell remaining largely intact. The windshield was broken, and we can see all airbags deployed, but considering the witnesses told local tech website geenius.ee that the truck was going rather fast, we'd say the wreck looks absolutely decent.

The man driving the EV wasn't its owner, with the car belonging to a local rental company called "Tesla Rental" instead. Following the accident, he was taken to the hospital where he is in a stable condition and should make a full recovery. The owner of the rental firm, Mario Kadastik, thinks the car is unlikely ever to roll its wheels and should be headed for the scrapper. We tend to agree with him.

The truck isn't probably doing too well either, but it's Russian, so it'll be repaird. At a first glance, it looks like in only suffered some aesthetic modifications, but we'd be surprised if that front axle is still in one piece. The pictures suggest the Tesla's nose hit the front right side wheel of the Kamaz with its ~4,800 pounds (~2,150 kg), so that must have left a mark.

We don't know anything about the speed of the impact, but judging by the damage, we'd say it wasn't lacking. The fact everyone could walk away from this crash is another testament to the incredible safety ratings of Tesla models, and one more reason to look forward to the Model 3.
