Drunk Hungarian Truck Driver Forgets He Is in the UK

We are not going to start a lecture on drinking and driving. We are, however, going to show you what alcohol can do to a truck driver who up to this point had an “unblemished record”. The driver, a 50 year-old 18-wheeler driver from Hungary, was in the UK, probably carrying something from some place to some place else.
While resting before his return trip home, the man had a few drinks with a group of co-workers (beer and plum brandy) and then set off in his truck. However, he probably did not realize that he was in the UK, as he was driving on the ‘continental side’ of the M6 motorway without headlights - he was twice over the legal drink-drive limit, as well.

Thankfully, all drivers were able to spot the white truck in time and everybody got out of his way for a distance of around 10 miles (16 km), before a group of three British truck drivers formed a barricade to stop him - two of them got a £250 award for their brave deed, and deservedly so! The Hungarian man got four months in prison, with the judge ruling that it was only alcohol that caused his strange reaction, and nothing else.
