The Monterey Car Week fever is upon us, what with Bugatti Chiron's 'Golden Era,' Aston DB12 Volantes, a potential mid-engine V8 Mustang, and whatnot. But that's still no cause for a ruckus for some people.
Lexus, for example, has already waved the flag of (car) sensuality at us, as the luxury Japanese automaker recently announced the LC 500 Inspiration Series is prepared to return for the 2024 model year. Other than that, earlier this month, they also launched the Lexus RX 450h+, the first plug-in hybrid version of the popular luxury crossover SUV acting as the new flagship of the range.

As such, I am still determining what else they could bring to California's Monterey Car Week. Of course, they are not missing out on the action. During The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering, they will have the aforementioned LC 500 Inspiration Series on-site and the RZ Sport Concept from the Tokyo Auto Salon. At the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, where Lexus has been a sponsor for a quarter of a century, they are coming with the GX and TX.

But there's nothing ground-breaking or surprising, right? Well, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators would undoubtedly love to change that – but they can't because it's all wishful thinking, unfortunately. Still, that does not mean we can't give the parallel universe its five minutes of fame, especially when Sugar Chow, the virtual artist better known as sugardesign_1 on social media, has paused his Chinese redesigns for a moment and now gives us this station wagon beauty.

Meet the hypothetical, unofficial Lexus IS Sportwagon. The third-generation (XE30) Lexus IS can only be had as a four-door sedan, and it's one of the most outstanding designs of the brand, even after a decade since its introduction. If you like Lexus' inherent quirkiness, that is. But the Is has just enough spirit and elegance to make its way into many people's hearts – even when competing against the likes of BMW's 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, or Audi's A4.

Well, this pixel master knows very well that station wagons are a dying breed in the United States. However, since his motto is "Touring the world!" it is pretty obvious he will never settle and abandon his beloved five-door station wagon format anytime soon. Besides, this Lexus IS 350 F Sport looks gorgeous as an estate model, with just enough amount of sporty swagger and a tasty combination between practicality and the inherent elegance of a premium car series.

Too bad we didn't get to see the IS Sportwagon as an IS 500 F Sport Performance on this occasion – the jump from a 3.5-liter 311-hp V6 to the mighty 5.0-liter 2UR-GSE engine packing 472 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque would potentially make it an instant BMW M3 Touring foe, and one to be reckoned with!
