Exciting drag races anyone? We have the latest clip from Vmax Quicksilver, showing two absolutely amazing machines. One is a bone-stock Lamborghini Aventador and the other is the RUF CTR3, a tuned car created by the biggest name in fast Porsche.
The specs show the two cars are actually similar. The Aventador, as you all know, makes 700 horsepower and uses an all-wheel drive system to get to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. But the RUF has even more power and is sleek as a fish. It packs 750 hp from a twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter flat-six engine and gets to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Its top speed is higher as well: 380 km/h compared to the 330 km/h or so of the Aventador.
But, RUF makes its cars for the autobahn and not drag racing, which is why Lamborghini's all wheel drive system and naturally aspirated engine win it the race. Wet conditions also stopped the CTR3 from putting its full power down effectively.
